burn calories diet: the secret to your permanent weight loss

This Health Article is Brought To You By - Kevin Prott

So many dieting options - some good, some not so good, and so little help in finding the right one. There are diets that are honest and others that are just designed to make you feel good in order to get your money. So how do you sift through them all and find one that will work for you? As you consider which diet to try, remember this: Above all, it must be a diet that raises your metabolism rate. Without this key, you will not lose weight and keep it off.

The number one problem most people attempting to lose weight report is a temporary loss of weight, and then that weight comes back after resuming normal eating. So why does this always seem to happen, regardless of the dieters' commitment to losing weight?

Traditional dieting works by basically starving yourself in an attempt to force your body to use its stores of fat to survive. This is probably the single most counterproductive thing you can do when attempting to lose weight. Dieting like this actually causes your body to prefer to burn muscle over fat, and causes some temporary weight loss in the form of water loss.

Usually though, the person will start eating the same old foods in the same old amounts as always, and will regain the lost weight. In fact, in most cases, the person gains more weight than ever. Sound familiar? Don't feel bad. It happens to most dieters, and it's not your fault. This kind of diet program is doomed to failure!

So how do we avoid this trap? By finding a diet that both burns calories while at the same time raising your metabolism. This is a method that will train your body to prefer the burning of fat rather than muscle. The result: You lose pounds without causing damage to your muscles and ultimately, you're more likely to keep the pounds off.

As you are designing your weight loss program, remember to incorporate three elements. Your diet will tell you what you should eat and how much, an exercise program that will help to burn calories, and developing new habits that will keep you from going back to the old unhealthy ways.

Patience is also key in effective weight loss. Yes, it's true that noticeable loss can occur often faster than you might think, don't expect too much too quickly. We're talking major changes to your body and your life, and it will take time.

What this means is to be kind to your body. Don't over-exert yourself in exercise, and don't starve yourself. You might think you're hurrying the process along, but in reality, you're just making it less likely that the weight loss will be permanent.

Remember, in the end, success depends on you. A good calorie burning diet plan can help tremendously; a comprehensive weight loss plan with the diet AND exercise guidelines are even better. But no matter which diet plan you choose to use, remember to burn calories, increase metabolism, and patience will see you free of all those excess pounds for good.
