Having the odd social drink won't do you any harm and even the odd glass of wine can be good for you. But an all to common trend amongst younger people is the drinking of excessive amounts this is a trend known as 'binge drinking' which will do little for maintaining youthfulness long term.
The youngsters of today who party today may live to regret their actions as they become older. The may well experience health problems and age much faster than those who drink more sensibly or don't drink at all.
Alcohol by its very nature will dehydrate the body which is ironic in a way. The more you drink alcohol the more the skin becomes dry and dehydrated which leaves the skin lacking in the essential moisture it needs to look good. Subsequently the skin dries out and loses it's elasticity and looks lifeless.
Applying moisturizers will not compensate for the lack of hydration from within.
A majority of excess drinking in people is at parties and that sort of environment. This means the room is likely to be smoked filled and this combined with the excess alcohol can very quickly lead to skin aging.
Lifestyle choices affect your appearance and a unhealthy life style is reflected in an unhealthy complexion, and that is not the way to stay looking young.
It is now days not uncommon to see young guys and girls with excess fat around their waistlines and much of that can be attributed to them consuming excessive amounts of alcohol.
The attitude with the younger generation is party to today and forget tomorrow but the body is not designed for this abuse long term. It can surely only be a matter of time if this lifestyle is continued that our next generation of young men and women will appear to age very much faster than that of previous generations.
It is good to have fun in life and that will actually help to keep you feeling younger but there must be limits. Remember sometimes things that seems a good idea at the time can have a huge effect on you later down the track.
The saying goes "pretty much anything is ok if done in moderation".
