Everyone who has those unsightly blue veins known as varicose veins should consider to have them removed. While some people will require surgery, others can have easier treatments like laser therapy to remove the hideous veins. There are advantages, and disadvantages to any treatment option though and they all need to be reviewed before choosing one.
Sceleotherapy is a varicose vein treatment where the patient is injected with a solution which causes the vein to collapse. As some time passes, the vein seals so no blood can travel through it any longer.
Scelotherapy is normally a safe treatment option, but, there is a risk of allergic reaction to the solution. After treatment its strongly suggested to wear a tight compression so the area can heal more effectively.
If the varicose vein is larger, it may have to be removed surgically. This type of treatment is done normally with small cuts to the area of the vein and the vein is tied off, sometimes even removed from the body.
After the surgery, compressions are required again to keep bruising and swelling down. Walking will also assist in a quicker healing process as well and is encouraged after this type of vein removal therapy.
The world of medicine has advanced quite a bit in technologies, and techniques which are assisocated with them. Now a days you can have laser therapy which destroys the vein in the area the laser passes through.
The advantage to laser treatment is the very short recovery time, which translates into less rest and the sooner you can get back to your normal routine. The disadvantage of course is the cost of this operation compared to the others which are out there.
The selection of surgery option for varicose veins is huge, depending on your needs, budget, and the comfort you want. Varicose vein removal has became very simple now a days, and if you do have them you should get them checked out by your doctor. He or she should be able to answer any questions that you have on the options you have for treatment.
