Here is the rundown on the types of Eco friendly paint that is out on the market. Milk Based-This is 100% natural based paint runs between $30 and $65 dollars per gallon at most specialty home improvement centers and online retailers. A gallon of paint will cover between 200 and 250 square feet. Here are some of the advantages and disadvantages of using milk based paints: Advantages: This paint is 100 % natural. Very low odor has a fresh and natural scent. Very durable, if you use it right, these cans last almost forever. Great to use on Faux Finishes Low impact on the environment Disadvantages: Only comes in powder form you need to mix it with water. Once exposed, you need to use your paint within 12 hours. Has a porous finish, you need to use a natural wax to prevent stains. Has the least number of colors This paint is the most expensive out of all the natural paints. Clay Base Paint-These paints are made out of natural clay and are 99% natural. The cost runs around $40-$45 dollars a gallon and paints up to 350 square feet of space! You can find these at many of the same retailers that carry Milk Based paint. Advantages: 99% natural Very low odor, gives off a fresh and natural scent.
