I'm sure you want to have a business that lasts for the long haul. There's a lot involved in running a business, but you want to run it to make money day in and day out maximizing your profits while minimizing your work load. One way you can to this for the success of your business is by building an opt in email list. You can talk to just about anyone who is doing well online and they will tell you that building an opt in email list and monetizing it effectively often becomes their bread and butter.

You learn all the great information on list building from your research and your ready to give it a go. You start using all the methods like a mad man (or mad woman) and you actually build a list, but then it stops right there. You have the list, but you still can't monetize it. Everybody says it's so easy, but you feel like you're wasting your time.

In fact you might even be losing money, because of all the expenses to building an opt in email list and maintain that list is more than the profits that you bring in from it.

You sit there and think to yourself that everybody says that their money is in the list. Well you might angrily decide that it's just for those really successful Internet marketers, but you have to settle for failure of building an opt in email lists that profits and you just give it up and leave it for something else.

Please.....don't give up on it cause there's hope. It might seem to you like an impossibility, but having and building a targeted email list is a crucial part of your business success. Just roll up your sleeves and really learn how to do it and do it right. If you're persistent, you will be able to do it and you'll be really glad you did.

So what's the barrier that keeps you from building an opt in email list that's holding you back to success? Well, there are many factors involved that need to be implemented to successfully building an opt in email list. I only have room in this article to discuss one ingredient to the recipe, but this is a main ingredient that if you don't have and add to the mixture you will be pulling your hair out forever. And for some of us like me, without a lot of hair, it's not something I can afford to do (haha).

Before even starting a list, like building a house, a solid foundation must be laid for the whole structure to stand for years to come. The foundation of building an opt in email list has 3 mindsets. If you apply these in your list building from the get go, you will greatly improve you chances of building an opt in email list the profitable way.

1-Focus on quality and not just quantity.

It might take more effort and thought to methodically attract and add quality subscribers to your list, but it is worth every ounce of sweat to building an opt in email list that's responsive. Have the mindset of only attracting quality. You may have a smaller list, but even a small highly responsive list will outperform a much larger low quality list any day of the week.

Let's face it, building an opt in email list the correct way is going to take the higher road approach. Sticking to the proper mindset during this process will give you the reasons why you are putting forth the effort and therefore will help you do it the way that will ensure your success.

2-Another mindset is having the approach that you have only ONE person on your list. When building an opt in email list many marketers talk to their list broadcasting to them like a news anchor giving the evening news on TV. Please....Don't do it!

Talk to each one of your subscribers as though you wrote that email especially for them. You want your prospects to feel a connection with you as though you were talking to them face to face. Most likely they've joined your list because you can help them in some way. They need you to support them and guide them along. So building an opt in email list really is about the one person. Never think you are too important or successful to maintain this mindset.

If you really do this, you will create a win-win situation for everyone.

3-Take the time to put together the optimal system to attract your perfect subscriber. Then you can direct your marketing efforts to drive prospects into this winning subscriber funnel.

Take a page from the life of Ray Crock, the founder of McDonalds. You've heard of them haven't you :-). This is a prime example of a man that built a great fast food restaurant. He developed it so he had the optimal experience for customers, hence optimal profits. And only then when he really had it rolling did he franchise it with a system that could be reproduced with the same results over and over.

So just putting together an opt in form and some crappy report to pull prospects from anywhere you can get them, might not be the best idea for the long run. Take the time to learn, create and implement a system that attracts hight quality prospects. Then when building an opt in email list you can do it over and over producing a quality list.

In summary, Building an opt in email list is done one subscriber at a time. Be that ideal communicator for that one person and be that for everyone on your list. Don't act like a big shot because you'll lose prospects. Always be personable and approachable.
