Stock Trading-Handling the ups and downs

This Financing Article is Brought To You By - Aman Srivastava

Trading in the equities market is often seen as a very scientific process and if you are aware of the market paradigms, there is very little chance of losing money over the long term. Let me explain some quick trading tips to you which will surely benefit you in the long run. There are two kinds of trading techniques or better still I will discuss three.

The first strategy is to make investments just for the day. It is called "Day Trading". In this method an investor invests money and buys shares which are then sold by the end of the day's trading session. In this way the trader can make massive gains although losses can be just as spectacular. This is a speculative way of investing and not advisable unless you are aware of the high risks. Most investors play it based upon market tips. This should be avoided.

The second technique is the short term trading technique. In this technique traders are involved in buying shares and selling them based upon the technical charts. The buying and selling of shares happens within a particular price range and profits are booked with a month to three months. Apart from the technical charts, traders also try to find out the prevalent market condition. This technique carries a lesser risk and traders can adopt this technique if they are sure of the market trend and the price of each particular share they are interested in trading.

The last technique that is adopted is the one by true investors. They create a portfolio of stocks based on the fundamental valuation of the shares. This is also known as long term trading. This is a great way of investing for the future due to long term trends smoothing out short term volatility and also the safest way to play the markets.

If you are interested in equity investing, a great way to start is by virtual trading with no fees but still the potential for profit at a fraction of the investment capitlal you would normally require. Tips and tricks can be easily learnt while investing with virtual money. There are many websites such as notradingfees.com which offer virtual stock trading. There are some fundamental ways to build and grow a portfolio. If an investor believes in long term investing it is easy to grow the investment and ensure one's financial future. One needs to remember that in the present scenario the stock markets are dependent on the global economy. A rise in international crude oil prices could have a ripple effect on the stocks and could bring prices down. Hence, it is imperative for an investor to make a prudent investment otherwise large investments can be wiped out.

The global markets are also interdependent on one another. A fall in the NASDAQ could affect the FTSE, NIKKEI and the NIFTY. It is important to understand the pulse of the markets before making any investment. Real time trading involves trading fees and brokerage charges. However, if you are on a virtual terminal there are no trading fees and you can easily understand the tricks of the trade. I am sure that this article has helped you to understand some of the critical factors of share market investments. As an informed investor you can slowly start your trading with confidence and if you time your investments carefully and study the fundamentals, I am sure that you will come out as a winner in these volatile times.
