For example, listen to this outrageous claim, "Just secure your position today and we'll build and manage your downline for you. There are already hundreds of people waiting to be placed underneath youall you have to do is secure your spot! With our amazing automated system, even a couch potato like you can get rich!" This is a very easy pitch to sell someone because people want to believe that success, fame, and fortune can be achieved for a $179 dollar price tag and nothing else.

Let's get our head out of the clouds and find out why we really get paid in our business or in any business for that matter. In the ads we just looked at, why would someone want to pay us for doing absolutely nothing? You don't need to sell or recruit or even manage your own business. Would you pay someone for sitting in your business doing nothing? Probably not! On the other hand, you get paid in your Melaleuca home based business because you provide the human element in the business. You're the connection between the company's product and future sales force and when you produce, that's when you get paid.

Here's the thing, an automated recruiting system is a great tool for building a successful business, but is completely useless all by itself. You, a real live human being are the missing piece that completes the puzzle. Your personal communication, interaction, and mentoring is the glue that holds an organization together.
