Then the Zoom! gel is applied directly to the teeth.” Once the gel is applied, a special light will be directed at the gel on both the upper and lower teeth, to activate it and accelerate its effectiveness.

The whitening gel remains on the teeth for approximately fifteen minutes. Then the entire process is repeated, usually two more times during the same visit, to achieve the desired bright white color. The bleaching chemical is washed off the teeth completely, and if needed, a neutralizing product can be applied that helps to prevent any sensitivity to hot or cold which the patient may temporarily experience after the treatment.
