You may find yourself sitting down and setting a goal for yourself and you think it is easy to set a goal. Yes, it may be easy to set a goal to yourself but you could be one of the many millions people on this planet who miss out the most important things to make your goal come true. The two most important things are commitment and determination.
On the first day, you find yourself full of energy and excitement and enthusiastically trying all the various methods to make your dream come true. However, when time flies, your passion and energy for this goal fly too. Then you find yourself back to your original position, setting goals and seeing yourself tumbling down again as you do not have the commitments and willpower to carry on to accomplish your goal.
Now you may ask me how to get the commitment and willpower to achieve what we want? To get the commitment, you need to visualize. You visualize yourself already accomplishing the goal that you desired. Besides that, you can pen down on a piece of paper the things you need to do in order to achieve your final goal. Let's say you want a tone and athletic type of body, you jot down the things you need to do like heading out to a gym, go jogging or swimming. You may also need to change a diet that is healthier. Write down how many times you need to hit out at the gym and what kinds of food you are planning to eat for your three meals. Do the necessary research if you have to. Place your plan at a place that you will see everyday to remind yourself of your goal. In this way you can stay committed.
Another way of monitoring your progress is to write everything in a journal. For day 1, you lost 5 pounds, for example. This goes and on, until the day you lost that weight and you have achieved the goal of having a slimmer body.
Willpower and commitments comes as a package. Without willpower, there will be no commitment; the same goes the other way round. Willpower provides you with the energy to get yourself out of the comfortable bed and gets you to do things to accomplish your goal. Willpower is the one that makes you crackle on the spot to achieve the goal that you have set for yourself. Willpower is the one thing that forces you to do things that you dislike but is necessary to achieve your goal. The bottom-line is you need to have both commitment and willpower to realise your dreams.
