Microsoft FrontPage, also referred to as Microsoft Office FrontPage, is a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) HTML editor and web site administration tool for Microsoft Windows operating systems. From 1997 to 2003, FrontPage was offered as part of the Microsoft Office application.

As a WYSIWYG editor, FrontPage is designed to hide the details of the HTML code from the user, making it possible for novices to easily create web pages and sites. Learning how to use Microsoft FrontPage, therefore, doesn't require previous knowledge of the code required for producing web sites.

Sites all over the Web offer methods of learning how to use Microsoft FrontPage. The simplest training is offered in the form of online demos or demonstration videos. These give the user a visual of how the software works, and offer advanced techniques such as remotely managing the finished web site, and adding life to a site with interactive buttons.

Demos for learning how to use Microsoft FrontPage are offered on websites, too. Topics vary among sites and include; managing websites remotely, and how to brighten up a dull site with interactive components. These demos are in the form of online videos and are targeted to both novice and experienced users.

For those users who'd rather jump right in, several websites also provide a couple of hands on methods of learning how to use Microsoft FrontPage. A user can download a 60 day free trial version of the Microsoft Office suite which can later be converted to a licensed version, or can run an online test drive of all of the suite's products. The online test drive requires neither a download nor a product installation.

Many websites offer tutorials for learning how to use Microsoft FrontPage online, as downloads and on CD. These classes are often free, or simply require a small fee, such as payment of shipping. Other sites, like LearnFrontPageNow.com, offer FrontPage comprehensive courses on CD and on DVD for a fee. Books on FrontPage, too, are available for purchase. These in-depth training materials vary in length and depth, and can cost mere dollars or more than $100.00.

If more personal interaction is preferred, many colleges and universities include classes of Microsoft Office application within their computer and technology curricula. Adult education programs, community colleges and technical academies offer courses and workshops on FrontPage, too. Computer training companies often provide in-depth all day workshops. Like the tutorials and classes offered on CD, these in-person courses vary in length and in cost.

Lastly, learning how to use Microsoft FrontPage can occur in an actual classroom. Several computer training academies provide on-site workshops that can last from one to several days. Community colleges across the county offer both credit and non-credit in Microsoft Office applications, including FrontPage, in their computer science and technology curricula. Universities offer FrontPage classes as part of continuing education programs and weekend college programs for people already in the workforce.
