Vending machine scams are out there everywhere you look. Sadly, someone new falls for it every day. Don't assume that these are folks without enough brains to smell such a scam coming their way. As consumes catch on to things the scams become even more elaborate. Some people believe that if they are going to a seminar with real people then it must be legitimate. That isn't necessarily true though so you still need to really be careful.
It can be very easy to fall for the information that these people are offering when you go to such seminars. They are masters in presenting the information so that it seems like the perfect opportunity. For someone that wants their own business in this type of industry it may seem like something they really want to become involved with immediately.
By the time they are done listening to the presentation they are willing to purchase equipment, sign a long term contract for the locations, and get started. However, it doesn't take long for this dream opportunity to start falling apart. The vending machines may not be what was expected and the locations certainly aren't going to be anything you can profit from.
Too many people think they are safe because they get involved with a vending machine company that offers them a seminar. Just because you mean with them face to face doesn't mean you will be any better off. They often engage in unethical practices that are still legal. The terms of your contract are in black and white but how you interpret them and what they mean are too different things.
The biggest fraud in these types of scams are the locations for the vending machines. They will likely tell you that they guarantee locations for your vending machines. As long as they do this, they have honored their terms of the contract. However, what is to make them give you quality vending machine locations that are going to make money for you? Absolutely nothing so make sure you don't learn this lesson the hard way.
The people operating such scams often try to back you into a corner. They want you to believe you have to commit to the offer ASAP or it will disappear forever. They concept behind this is to get you motivated to give them money, sign the contract, and be on your way before you realize what has just taken place.
One of the reasons why people end up getting taken advantage of is that they don't want the price on the offer to expire. Many scams in the vending machine business will do this so that people hurry and take advantage of it. Yet if this is really a good deal for you on equipment or other materials for your business they will make it right with you when you are ready to jump on board.
Educating yourself about the problems with the vending machine industry is one of the best ways to protect yourself. Take the time to read information online from other people that have been in a similar situation. You will likely be very surprised at what information you can get this way. Some of it you may not initially believe but for those that have fallen victim to them, they are very real.
