This Electronics Article is Brought To You By - Jim Olivero

Invented by Apple Inc. on September 7, 2005, Ipod Nano has certainly created a revolution in the field of music. Ipod Nano is a mid-range Ipod portable media player that comes with attractive features and characteristics that are really stunning and mind-blowing.

The features of the Ipod are a statement of high-end technology. In such a tiny gadget you can store an enormous amount of music and pictures. Ipod uses the Mac OS X or the Windows 2000/XP operating system. It has an album art and has iTunes 4.9 for pictures and songs. There is a port for USB2, and also an optional FireWire cable. It is portable in size and is 6.5 ounces in weight. Ipods are also equipped with alarm clock to keep track of time and can be connected to TV.

Ipod Nano

Apple launched this product with the intention of replacing the Ipod Mini. With the Ipod Photo and Video versions at a higher price, and Ipod Shuffle at a lower price, Ipod Nano catches those who find themselves in the middle with a moderate price. The Nano uses flash memory, but with a miniaturized version of the display screen and "click wheel" found on the Ipod Classic. The screen of the Ipod Nano also shares the same resolution as the Classic. The batteries as well as other internal parts are also in reduced size compared to the Mini.

The Ipod Nano V3 works with iTunes on the Mac OS X or on Microsoft Windows. It connects to your computer via the same proprietary dock connector as the third-generation Ipod, the fourth-generation Ipod, and the Ipod Mini, using USB 2.0 connectivity. The Nano V3 has some attractive features including a stop watch and a multiple time zone clock function. There also are combination lock features that make use of the click wheel to lock the Ipod, and serves to secure the user's calendar and contact information. Picking up where the Ipod Shuffle leaves off, the Ipod Nano has a hard drive of 2 GB, 4GB, or 8GB flash drives which hold up to 500 to 2,000 songs in a 128-Kbps AAC format, up to 25,000 Ipod Nano-viewable photographs, and stores data via the USB flash drive. The Apple Ipod Nano uses general-purpose integrated circuits (IC) rather than smaller, low cost custom developed chips, in order to reduce time-to-market. This design increases the number of electronic components and increases the cost.

Accessories For Ipod Nano

1. Dock - The Ipod Nano has its own dock which allows the user to synchronize their Ipod Nano with iTunes without having to plug directly into their computer each time.

2. AV Connection Kit - This kit is an all in one package which contains cables and hook ups which you plug into your Ipod and then into your stereo, TV or home theater system and allows you to listen to music, look at photographs or watch videos.

3. Nike+ & Ipod Sport Kit - This kit transforms your Ipod Nano into a personal workout coach. It has a wireless sensor and also a receiver which works in combination with your Nike+ Shoes and your Ipod Nano in order to provide you with real time feedback during any workouts.
