A new force to be reckoned with is entering the health and wellness network marketing industry --Zrii. Starting off with the powerful endorsement of popular author and lecturer Deepak Chopra, Zrii has created a nutritional product based on Amalaki, a traditional Ayurvedic herb.
One factor that separates Zrii from most network marketing companies is that it was started by a someone who is very successful in the mainstream business world, Bill Farley. Farley, who is a friend of Chopra's, has been an owner of many companies, such as Anaheim Citrus Products and Fruit of the Loom; he is also a partner in a baseball franchise, the Chicago White Sox.
Ayurveda is a complex system of healing based on the traditional medicine of India. Although ancient in origin, what people mostly think of as Ayurvedic medicine is largely the work of the influential yogi, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (who, in turn, was a major influence on Deepak Chopra, now the best known exponent of Ayurveda).
Ayurveda is quite involved, but it is a system based on herbal and dietary principles. People are separated into three doshas, or body types. The three types are Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Very roughly, these three correspond, respectively, to the Western types ectomorph, mesomorph and endomorph. Each type of dosha has its own prescribed diet, herbs to take and habits regarding exercise and lifestyle.
Disease is the result of an imbalance of doshas according to Ayurvedic principles. In addition to a primary dosha, people have elements of each dosha within them. If there is an excess or deficiency, herbs or certain foods are prescribed. The three doshas also react in their own way to changes in temperature and seasons, as well as times of day.
The Amalaki tree (Emblica Officinalis) fruit has a very high concentration of Vitamin C, as well as other anti-oxidants, trace minerals and amino acids. It is considered by Ayurvedic practitioners to be a digestive aid, anti-inflammatory and metabolic enhancer.
Zrii went into pre-launch in July. It will not officially launch until October. It is, however, already causing quite a stir in both the internet marketing and natural healing communities. While network marketing companies are often very successful in their own right, they are usually somewhat marginalized. It isn't often when one is associated with people as generally well known as Deepak Chopra and Bill Farley. This will certainly provide it with some powerful momentum in getting started.
