Want to get as lean as you desire? Then you need a better approach to aerobic exercise. What is typically prescribed is steady state cardio at a low to medium intensity level for 30-40 minutes. Very few people have the ability to burn off stubborn body fat using this widely recommended approach. If you want to burn body fat like crazy, you need to introduce interval training into your workout routine.

Interval Training Burns a Massive Amount of Calories in a Short Time

Want to know the secret of getting lean? Burn more calories than what you eat each day. This is a proven, no fail method to getting lean. Interval training is tough work, but it is very effective at creating a large calorie deficit. You will burn calories after the workout is done because it essentially boosts your metabolism for up to 48 hours after the workout. You can't claim the same about moderate cardio.

Want to stay below 10 percent body fat and see your abs year round? Here is a great interval training workout that works extremely well.

1) Find a solid treadmill, elliptical machine, or exercise bike

2) For your first 1 and 1/2 minutes you will walk at a moderate pace

3) Increase the level of the machine so you are either jogging or peddling at a quicker pace

4) Go back to the same Steady State Cardio Pace for 1.5 minutes

5) After one-and-a-half minutes at moderate, you are going to hit the intense level for 30 seconds again. This time you want it to be even more intense than the first 30 second bout.

6) For 20 minutes you will continue alternating between high intensity efforts and low intensity efforts

Note: Start off the 30 seconds sprints at a moderate pace and go a bit faster for each of the remaining sprints. The last 30 second sprint should be your toughest. It is a good sign if you are short of breath, your skin is hot, and you are sweating. This is what will cause an increase of HGH in your body. Some people call this the "HGH flush"...this is what you are aiming for. Interval Training is tough, but you will love the results!
