It's bedtime, and it's only now that you realize you forgot to go to the store to restock on your acne treatment. Or, maybe that online order hasn't come in the mail yet. Either way, you're stuck, and you need some other solution in the meantime. Well, fortunately there are good home remedies for pimples.
You may be surprised at what you find in your home that can help you may even want to switch to home remedies permanently!
A rose steam each night could help. This is where you seep some fresh rose petals in a bowl of extremely hot water. Now, drape a small towel over your head and hold your face over the bowl.
This remedy has two advantages. One, it gives you a wonderful aromatherapy experience. Two, this helps keep your pores open and unclogged. Pores that get clogged up tend to form pimples.
A facial mask could really work wonders to. This is one of the more original approaches to home remedies for pimples. You'll need a bowl, six to eight uncoated aspirins, and a few drops of honey or warm water. Crush the aspirin, then mix in the water or honey.
Spread this over your face and leave the mask on for at least fifteen minutes. You can gently wash it over with a gentle cleanser once you notice it's starting to flake off, then gently pat yourself dry. This is a good exfoliator, and worth doing a couple of times a week.
A well-known zit-zapper is toothpaste (non-whitening, and not a gel). Put a dab of toothpaste, or calamine lotion, on your bothersome pimple before you go to bed. It will help dry the zit up while you sleep, and your pimple will be less noticeable in the morning.
The most effective home pimple preventative is plain old water. Not on the skin, but under it!
If you could watch a photo shoot or get behind the scenes of a runway show, you would soon notice that models are seldom without water. They know that you need to drink eight glasses of water every day to keep skin clear and beautiful.
Admittedly, there aren't home remedies for pimples that have been scientifically proven to control acne. There are remedies that work for some people and not for others. You'll need to try different ones to see which is best for you.
