Regardless of what goals you are trying to achieve, you've always got to be motivated so that you have the mental boost to work towards those goals. Being motivated is extremely important because even if you've convinced yourself that you want to get to certain goals, it might not always be easy to concentrate on them when hurdles start to come your way.
It is essential to have an optimistic mental state to accomplish what you've set out to, and self-motivation is an especially excellent way to go about it. You can modify your tactics anytime you think that alterations will be for the better. Your motivation strategy should be flexible so that you feel comfortable with it at all times, and not let it turn into a chore. There may well be unforeseen change in your life and you have to modify your tactics to accommodate any surprises that show up.
The first action for you to take is to map out a plan to motivate yourself and then get it down on paper. Once you've wrote it down, you can then split it into smaller tasks which you can do every day and which, at the end of the day, will make you feel much stronger and calmer.
This is an excellent way to do this and you will avoid the feeling of being out of your depth, possibly thinking that you've tried to accomplish a goal that is not possible for you to accomplish. Each time you complete one of the tasks on your goal list you'll get a great feeling of achievement, and this will help you stay motivated to complete the next item on your list.
When you reward yourself for being able to complete the goals that you set out to, you will get a mental high from the sense of optimisim that it gives you. Choose a reward that will keep you inspired to keep going, maybe eating a bar of chocolate or talking to a friend on the phone!
Make sure that you don't delay doing anything that you can do now. If you procrastinate, you will end up feeling much less motivated at the end of the day. By keeping focused on what you need to do; you can help yourself achieve the goals much easier.
Sticking to the lists you write is an excellent way to discourage procrastination. You can also try breaking down your yearly tasks into smaller monthly goals, and then break these down further into weekly ones. You will be able to do these small daily tasks quite easily, and yet still be working towards the major task achieving your yearly goals. Once you've got into the habit of doing small daily tasks, you'll want to tick them off at the end of the each day and not procrastinate.
Creating lists is an easy simple way to make you work a little bit every single day and therefore contribute to your major end goals. Reward yourself every time you complete your daily tasks and the good feelings will help increase your motivation too.
