When one passes away, one of the most difficult decisions will be whether to bury the deceased or cremate the remains. In fact, it will be a lot easier if the deceased has planned it before. In this case it is just needed to do whatever the deceased wishes.
However, in some cases of sudden death, the deceased may not have planned it. In this case, the decision has to be made. Making such decision is very stressful. However, there is no way to escape from making the decision.
Sometimes cremation will be preferred over burial. If the deceased is seriously injured in an accident, cremation will usually be the only option. This is especially true if family members of the deceased cannot be contacted for some time after the accident.
Of course there are also cases that burial is preferred. In this case, a casket will be bought. This can be treated as a "home" for the deceased to live forever and extra attention has to be made when purchasing the casket.
Both of the above are ways to deal with the remains of the deceased. As mentioned, it is not easy to make the decision. As a matter of fact, cremation will be an even more difficult decision. No one would like to see one's beloved one is cremated.
If the deceased has a religious belief, the funeral can be planned according to the teaching of the religion. The choice between burial and cremation should also be decided upon the teaching of the religion. For instance, cremation will be chosen if the deceased has belief in Buddhism. However, it has to be remembered that the teaching of different religions will be different. It may be necessary to consult people who are in that religion before making the final decision.
Usually, burial can be an easier decision when compared to cremation. This is because it is possible for the family members to visit the gravestone if the deceased is buried. As a result, sometimes burial will be preferred due to this reason.
No matter what the choice is, one will find it not really easy to make the decision between burial and cremation. Yet one of the ways to make the decision is to investigate what the deceased wishes. For example, if the deceased has some religious belief, the decision can be made upon the teaching of the religions. Of course the easiest way is to plan it ahead before passing away, which is very common nowadays.
