If you're like many people, you want the gorgeous wedding without the staggeringly high price tag that goes with it. Well, most of us do. However, 'budget weddings' don't usually stay within budget. There are many ways that you can keep from forking out money that wasn't planned in your budget. Here are a few of them.

Don't Hire Unnecessary People:

You don't need to fork over tons of cash just for a performer or a band if you want music at your wedding. Here's another option: Make a bunch of CDs with all your favorite music, then have a friend or family member play them for you. It works especially well if you have a CD player with a large disk changer. With little things like this here and there, you can easily pull off budget weddings. You'll easily save $1000 if not more.

Keep it Smaller:

You may be feeling the pressure to invite anyone and everyone who is remotely connected to your family and friends. Don't do it! You should pick your very best friends, and of course your family. Don't add to the list by including anyone else. Stick with your list, and ask your friends and family not to bring any extra guests. This way, you don't have to worry about the expense of feeding all of these people.

Think About Food:

Food costs a ton, and will be a major expense for your wedding. Avoid fancy little foods that nobody normally eats, especially the ones that few people can pronounce properly. What you should consider instead is a potluck wedding. Or, you can simply enlist some friends to help you serve finger foods and hors d'oeuvres. Budget weddings can be just as wonderful as expensive weddings, and you won't spend yourself into a pit. Who wants to start off married life with debt to pay off?
