One of the largest Greek Islands which is also one of the prime Ionian Islands is Kefalonia found on the west side of the Greek mainland . An unknown fact is that Kefalonia can be spelt in various ways and some of these ways include Cephallonia, Kefallonia and Cephalonia. According to popular belief it is said to be named after Cephalus, a character from Greek Mythology and was the founding head of a great family.
Kefalonia is a breathtaking island with mountain ranges, deep caves and vegetation. It is also steeped in history.
